Windows 10 is a free upgrade for Any computer running a legitimate copy of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.The Windows 10 Upgrade is only free for the first year of release so I thought it would be a good idea to put together some common upgrade questions that we have previously been asked about upgrading to Windows 10. Will my computer be able to run Windows 10?

Yes! - If your computer is already using Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 then your computer will be able to run Windows 10. Please see below for Microsoft's minimum system requirements.

I’ve accidentally started the upgrade – can it be stopped?

No, stopping the upgrade would cause a lot of damage to your computers data – If you have started the upgrade in error – allow the upgrade to complete, and then revert back to your previous operating system

Will my computer just upgrade on its own?

If you have already reserved your copy of Windows 10 using the Windows Upgrade Assistant, then there is now a chance that your computer could automatically install the Windows 10 Upgrade when your computer next installs any Windows Updates.

Will my Business’s software work on Windows 10?

Windows 10 has been available for use for 9 Months now so most bespoke computer software should now offer support for Windows 10, however it wouldn’t hurt to ask the manufacturer of your software if it is Windows 10 Compatible before you upgrade

If I Upgrade, can I go back to Windows 7/8?

Yes! – When you upgrade your computer you have 30 days to revert back to your previous version of Windows. After your 30 day period you would have to wipe your computer and perform a clean install of Windows 7 / Windows 8.1
